Tourists caught having sex in university car park Thailand

A drunk couple were caught allegedly having public sex in a university car park in Thailand.

The woman, 22, from Hong Kong, and her Chinese boyfriend, 27, both not named by police, allegedly sunk cans of beer while smoking cannabis before stripping and a romping outdoors at the Chiang Mai University on July 4.

Shocked security guards rushed over and stopped the pair's frisky activities as police arrived and clothed them.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Awirut Sookyam of Tourist Police Division 2 said: 'From questioning the Chinese tourists, it was found that they had smoked marijuana earlier, and came to drink beer at the parking lot. It is believed that the woman had hallucinations until she went out-of-control and took off her clothes.

'Initially, the officers sent both tourists to receive treatment at Maharaj Nakhon Chiang Mai Hospital, but they were not seriously intoxicated and have already left the hospital.

'They were not arrested but now we are searching for them to take action and fine them.'

A food vendor at the university said the couple had bought lunch to eat under a tree in the car park. They were eating pork noodle soup.

However, she said she was shocked when both tourists suddenly walked over toward a pile of dirt next to the roadside, with the woman stripping completely naked, unfazed by passing traffic.

The girl was then said to have disrobed her companion down to his shorts, before straddling him and bouncing on top of him in front of horrified passers-by.

Police said that hospital tests confirmed that they both had alcohol and cannabis in their systems. They were discharged without needing any treatment.

Police said the university has not filed charges against the couple.

However, they were placed under a watchlist, along with the shop that had sold them cannabis.

Under Section 388 of Thailand's Criminal Code, 'any person who performs such a disgraceful act in public by undressing himself, exhibiting his undressed person or committing any other act of obscenity shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred baht'.
