This Vietnamese sculptor builds fascinating models of wooden stilt houses using recycled materials.
Artist Nguyen Tan Tai pieces together the intricate miniature homes from bits of metal cans, broken glass bottles, and scrap wood to recreate the traditional stilt houses that were prevalent in the country's western region.
The talented builder shows the items off in his home in Vinh Long City, Vietnam.
He said: 'The idea came to me when I was staying at home due to the COVID pandemic, and I remembered memories of the old days, when the house had my parents and grandparents. Now what I remember is that I made several models of stilt houses, floating houses.
'It was difficult at first, then I gradually learned and got used to it and found it easy.'
Nguyen added that each model house takes around three to four days to build. The smaller ones cost around 500,000 VND (20 USD), while the large houses coast around 1 million VND (41 USD).
He said: 'It's fun because I feel like I found my passion. My wife likes it too. Many times, when I can't sleep at night, I work on the houses until I feel sleepy.'
