A furious Japanese boyfriend went on a rampage and drove his car into other vehicles during a row with his escort girlfriend.
Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi, 60, reportedly fought with the sex worker before crashing his white sedan all around her workplace - a gogo bar in Pattaya, Thailand - on July 10 evening.
Footage shows the out-of-control driver toppling chairs and decor at the nightclub. Furious staff were later seen attacking his car as he sped away.
Police Captain Ittiporn Tangchutaweesap of the Pattaya City Police Station said officers received a report of the chaos at 9:36 pm.
He said: 'The perpetrator was a Japanese tourist driving a white Toyota Altis sedan, chasing and hitting cars and motorcycles along the entire route in Soi Bua Khao to South Pattaya before being stopped by locals. He appeared to be intoxicated and scared. He sustained injuries to his face and body.
'Rescue workers provided first aid before transporting him to the hospital. Police officers from Pattaya City Police Station are closely monitoring the situation.'
A bar bouncer, Somporn Srithong, 27, said Yoshiyuki was seen arguing with the dancer, an employee at the nightclub, before he went berserk and crashed his car into the place.
Staff said the Japanese man had paid several times for the girl's services and was under the impression she loved him.
The bouncer said: 'We tried to chase after him, but the perpetrator refused to stop and kept trying to hit and run over us. Fortunately, we jumped out of the way. I only sustained minor injuries, requiring six stitches on my finger, and abrasions on his body.'
Yoshiyuki's rampage was halted after he crashed into the back of a tour bus, rendering his sedan immobile.
Locals then swarmed his car and seized the keys from him before dragging him out onto the streets as he apologised profusely.
Authorities believe he had taken drugs.
Charuda Tasanchan, 43, an employee at the shop across the street, said the Japanese man repeatedly tried to align his car before crashing into the gogo bar.
She added that Yoshiyuki had threatened to drive his car into the store, but staff ignored him thinking they were just idle threats.
Police Captain Ittiporn said all parties have been summoned to the Pattaya City Police Station for questioning and to proceed with legal charges.
There were no reports of serious injuries or casualties.
Former fishing village Pattaya became popular with American troops on 'rest and relaxation' breaks in the 1960s when the U.S. military had bases in Thailand. In the ensuing years, the coastal resort spawned into a semi-barbarous sex-tourism hellscape.
Embarrassed officials have made progress in gentrifying the region with family tourism projects but a ravenous nightlife industry and corrupt police have hampered their efforts, with undesirables from all nations still attracted to the seedy city.
