A stray cat impaled on rusty metal railings was rescued by firemen in Thailand.
The feline was scampering across roofs when it slipped and landed on a sharp fence spike at the Mefka Ville housing estate in Samut Prakan province on July 10.
Animal rescuers arrived at the scene and cut off the skewer piercing through the tabby's rear leg as it dangled upside-down on the wall.
They also provided first aid for a well-meaning boy who tried to help the cat but was scratched.
A resident in the area, Aom, 37, said: 'The cat tried to run across the wall, but it fell and was stabbed by the large metal spike. I felt bad for it since it was stuck in such an uncomfortable position.'
The tabby has received treatment from a vet and has since been adopted by a local animal lover.
