An Argentine Air Force pilot was killed when his fighter plane crashed in the outskirts of a town in Argentina.
The Lockheed Martin A-4AR Fightinghawk exploded as it crash landed during a training flight in Villa Reynolds town in San Luis province on July 15.
A huge fire erupted at the area of impact. The plane's pilot, Captain Mauro Testa La Rosa, 33, was killed in the accident.
He was described by local media as having 'extensive experience and an outstanding career within the Air Force.'
In a July 15 statement, the Argentine Air Force said: 'The Argentine Air Force regrets to inform that today, during the night air training phase with the A-4AR Fightinghawk system, for reasons that are being investigated, the aircraft fell to the ground and its pilot lost his life.'
