Dozens of tourists fled escaped alive from a raging fire that broke out at a beachside hotel in Bali, Indonesia.
Dramatic footage shows guests sliding down an electric post to inferno tearing through the Padangbai Beach Inn Hotel in Karangasem Regency late evening on July 21.
The fire reportedly broke out at around 11:30 pm local time, and was discovered by a security guard at the nearby Billabong Restaurant.
The guard tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher, while another local ran inside the hotel to warn the tourists.
Twenty-two firefighters were dispatched to tackle the fire, which was extinguished at 4 am on July 22.
Authorities said there were no injuries or casualties reported as all of the guests were evacuated safely.
However, the neighbouring Kerti Beach Bungalow Hotel and Padangbai Billabong Restaurant were engulfed in the blaze.
Kompol I Ketut Merta Kariana, Padangbai Port Area Police Chief, said: 'The estimated loss is IDR 5 billion (238,500 GBP). The exact cause of the fire is not yet known and forensic lab officers are still checking.'
The fire was said to have spread rapidly due to the hotel's thatch roofing and strong winds fanning the flames.
