Police simulated an active shooting scenario at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.
Footage shows people fleeing from the 'shooter' as the Hanuman SWAT Team swept into the Airport Rail Link Station to respond to the 'armed' individual during the Contingency and Emergency Exercise on August 9.
The drill took place near the ticket sale area of the station, simulating a scenario in which the shooter pretended to be a passenger before open firing into the crowd.
Airport security staff were tasked with evacuating passengers, while police flew a drone into the area to locate the shooter.
The SWAT team used blank guns to neutralise the perpetrator, with a K9 unit and Explosive Ordnance Disposal team later arriving to inspect the scene for explosives.
Medics and firefighters moved in to assist injured civilians.
Airport Director Kittipong Kittikachorn said: 'The main objective of the drill is to ensure that relevant organisations were familiar with the operational procedures, which would serve as guidelines for management, access to the scene, emergency response, and evacuation to reduce casualties and injuries.'
He added that the exercise also aimed to build confidence in the airport's security measures.
Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin vowed last year to tighten gun control in Thailand, which has one of the highest gun ownership and gun homicide rates in Asia.
The pledge came after a 14-year-old boy opened fire at shoppers in Bangkok's Siam Paragon mall killed three people.
