Laotian model, 28, found dead at condo after 'fight with Chinese boyfriend'

A Laotian model was found dead with her throat slit after allegedly fighting with her Chinese boyfriend in Thailand's notorious Sin City Pattaya.
Prai Manee, known by her nickname 'Namfon', 28, reportedly returned home drunk to the condo room she shared with her boyfriend, Chang Zi, 42, in the on August 7 evening.
The couple had a row as Namfon claimed she 'was being chased by a murderous ghost' before kicking her boyfriend out and locking the door.
The Chinese man told police he returned the next morning, August 8, with Namfon's friend - only to find the door still locked and his calls unanswered.
He said be was worried and finally called a locksmith to open the door. He then ran inside, but found a lifeless Namfon in the bathroom, lying in a pool of her blood with a knife next to her.
Gruesome police photos show the tiled floor smeared in dried blood while Namfon lay face-up with a huge slit on her throat. She was believed to have been dead for around 12 hours.
Police investigated the scene and found methamphetamine and ketamine in the room.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Somchanok Fakpairot, deputy chief of investigation at the Nongprue Police Station, said officers believed the case was a suicide and not a murder.
He said: 'From the investigation, it appeared that the deceased was drug-crazed and hallucinating, which is consistent with the testimony of the deceased's boyfriend. He said that before the incident, his girlfriend returned to the room and acted like she was drunk.'
The officer added that fingerprint evidence and CCTV footage corroborated Chang Zi's account, showing no one else had entered the room after he left.
Namfon's friend also confirmed that she regularly took hard drugs.
Meanwhile, Chang Zhi, Namfon's boyfriend of three years, was detained at the police station for reportedly overstaying his visa for four years. He also underwent a drug test to see if he had consumed illegal drugs.
On July 18, a Hong Kong model, Gwendoline Cretton, 24, was believed to have been stabbed to death by her Hong Kong boyfriend, Wai Kit, in her apartment in Bangkok.
While on July 1, Chinese TikTok star Yan Ruimin, 38, was found decomposing on the roadside in Bangkok. She was allegedly murdered by her Chinese boyfriend, Ma Qingyan, 32, who reportedly used her WeChat Pay account to make several transactions before fleeing to Macau.
