Manchild furious over his haircut attacks salon hairdresser in Thailand

This is the shocking moment a customer furious over his haircut attacked a female hairdresser at a salon in Thailand.

The disgruntled visitor, estimated to be around 25, had entered the barber shop with his parents in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya on August 7.

Hairstylist Thanis Sukgyim, 58, said she had been following instructions from the customer's mum when he suddenly went on a rampage and allegedly assaulted her upon seeing the completed haircut.

CCTV footage shows the portly manchild kicking Thanis's table before turning to his mother, screaming: 'Stop ordering me around!'

He then lunged at a stunned Thanis to punch her in the face as his parents and other customers held him back.

The family were later seen outside the shop, with the mother in tears as they boarded a Toyota Yaris Ativ to leave.

Thanis was taken to a hospital to be treated for a swollen eye.

She said: 'On the day of the incident, a customer who was not a regular came by with his parents. The mother said he will be having a two-block haircut. I didn't think much of it and just followed her orders.

'Throughout the haircut, I kept asking him about the length and style, but his mother was the one answering the whole time. The son, who was sitting in the chair, never objected or argued.

'When I finished, he suddenly turned and scolded his mother before attacking me. The shop owner was there to stop him. The man's mother then apologized and they left the shop.

'We were all shocked because there were other customers and children in the salon. So I locked the door and tried to remember their license plate. I am still waiting for the family to contact me and take responsibility for what happened.'

Meanwhile, the shop owner, Chang Thanapan, said the man's outburst had damaged two hair clippers, a razor, and some furniture, with estimated damages reaching 10,000 baht (222 GBP).

He said: 'The attack shouldn't have happened, because the hairdresser was thorough about asking what kind of haircut he wanted. This incident should be a lesson to barbers to talk clearly to their clients, whether it's the customers themselves or the person who brought them.'
