Heavy rains caused a dam to burst, triggering severe floods in northern Thailand.
Footage shows floodwater gushing across roads in Phayao province after the Huay Kha Sun Reservoir broke from continuous downpours on August 16.
The deluge flowed into nearby agricultural areas and highways, causing traffic disruptions.
The water receded after several hours, but residents said they feared more floods could hit the area if the dam stays unrepaired.
The Thai Meteorological Department today forecasted thunderstorms across northern Thailand, including Phayao province.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
