This is the moment a brave janitor caught a 13-foot-long python stalking chickens at a school in Thailand.
The fearless employee, who stays at a nearby house, inspected the chicken coop after hearing the hens clucking loudly in their enclosure at the Wat Ku Sanamchan School in Samut Songkhram province in the early hours of August 17.
He spotted the sinister python slithering around and grabbed a bin in which to trap it.
CCTV footage shows the janitor, armed with a head light and snake-catching pole, pinning down the python and hauling it into the empty rubbish bin.
The reptile was handed over to animal rescuers who arrived to pick it up later in the morning.
School director Ekkalak Khaonuan said: 'The school takes care of chickens so we can use them for school lunches. The initiative was awarded in 2018 and 2019.
'We recently added 80 more chickens to the coop, but they seem to have attracted the python. We will be installing stronger nets in the coop to protect them from predators.'
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
