A convict who was having an affair with his younger brother's wife allegedly set her on fire when she ended their relationship.
Mew Sukkasem, 27, was reportedly furious when Nan Thongsi, 23, broke off their fling because she was serious about her marriage with Mai, 25, his sibling.
The thug allegedly doused Nan with alcohol before burning her alive and riding away on a motorcycle in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 22.
Graphic footage shows Nan running out onto the street screeching as half her body was engulfed in flames. Neighbours helped her put out the fire.
Nan survived but was rushed to the Siriraj Hospital with severe burns and blisters across 30 per cent of her body.
Police Colonel Pramote Chanboonkaew, superintendent of Phetkasem Police Station, said Mew was arrested while waiting at the Bangkok Bus Terminal on August 25.
He said: 'We checked the CCTV footage and found that the perpetrator was Mr Mew, who is Ms Nan's husband's brother. After the attack, Mr Mew rode a motorcycle to escape.
'The arresting team was able to collect evidence, issue an arrest warrant, and track him down and capture him at the bus terminal.'
Mew reportedly told police he was an ex-convict who recently served time for molesting a minor.
He claimed he started an affair with Nan, and that the extramarital relationship was known to his younger brother, who was accepting of the polyamorous setup.
But Mew added that he became furious when the female tried to end things between them by distancing herself, and decided to set her ablaze as revenge.
He was detained at the police station to be charged with attempted murder.
Nan was still in critical condition. She was placed in a sterile room due to her injuries, with doctors closely monitoring her condition.
