India Coast Guard helicopter rescues residents stranded in flood

Footage shows the Indian Coast Guard airlifting stranded residents to safety during floods on August 28.
Officials said that 33 locals were rescued from the rising water following heavy rain in the city of Porbandar in Gujarat, India.
A spokesman said: 'The helicopter evacuation braved adverse weather and strong winds, showcasing the Coast Guard's unwavering commitment to protecting lives.
'The were four back-to-back operations from rooftops in low-lying areas. Critical First Aid was provided before uniting families with state officials.'
Red alerts were issued in several parts of Gujarat following continuous heavy rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said at least 28 were killed and thousands more displaced.
They said the deep depression over Saurashtra and Kachchh was expected to intensify as it moved towards the northeast Arabian Sea.
