A gas cylinder exploded causing a fire ripped through a restaurant injuring one person.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows flames erupting from a new gas tank while food was being prepared at a streetside restaurant in Chiang Mai province, Thailand, on September 5.
Diners fled into the road as residents tried to hose down the fire. However, the blaze grew rapidly due to the eatery's wooden construction. It tore through the shop and spread to adjacent stores.
Firefighters responded to the scene and spent 25 minutes to contain the inferno.
A male customer, 26, at a nearby shop was injured and taken to the hospital. He was reported to be in a stable condition.
A Honda Scoopy-i motorcycle and an iPhone were also damaged.
Restaurant owner Wichai Khunkhong, 44, said he had ordered a replacement for his spent gas cylinder. The new tank reportedly exploded shortly after being installed.
A fire department spokesman said: 'The extent of the damage is still being determined. Officials from relevant agencies are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.'
