Footage shows severe floods in Tachileik, Myanmar, on Wednesday morning.
Heavy rain in recent days caused the deluge that has swamped thousands of homes and cut power across the region. Many residents are trapped in their properties.
Myanmar and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
In Thailand, the north of the country has also been affected by floods and severe rain, worsened from the tailend of Typhoon Yagi. Officials said at least three people have been killed by landslides.
