A stranded pig was rescued from floods caused by a typhoon in Thailand.
Footage shows rescue teams dragging the terrified farm animal named Bamrer across the deluge in Chiang Rai province on September 11.
They battled to push the stubborn sow onto a pickup truck away from a swamped school where it was being kept by owner Tanicha Luecha.
Tanicha said: 'I saved Bamrer from a slaughterhouse. I care for her deeply. I had built a high wall to keep floods from entering her enclosure, but the recent rain was just too much.
'This is the fourth time Bamrer has needed rescuing. From now on, I will try to reduce her weight so the rescuers don't have so much trouble.'
She thanked the responders for their efforts.
Northern Thailand has been battered by continuous heavy rain since September 8 due to Typhoon Yagi's influence.
Yagi, said to be Asia's most powerful storm this year, was downgraded to a tropical storm on Sunday morning, September 8. It killed at least 15 people in the Philippines before slamming into southern China and Vietnam, where it left at least 49 dead and 22 missing.
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) had forecasted isolated heavy rains with gusty winds across the northern and northeastern regions as remnants of the cyclone strengthened the monsoon.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
