A self-taught quack doctor was arrested for allegedly performing illegal penis enhancements in Thailand.
Kittikorn, 36, reportedly offered genital beading and silicone penis injections to customers seeking to enlarge their manhoods at his clinic in Samut Sakhon province.
The Consumer Protection Police Division (CCPD) descended on Kittikorn's two-storey townhouse on September 19 after a disgruntled client complained that a botched procedure had caused a severe infection leaving him unable to have sex.
Officers raided the illegal clinic and caught Kittikorn in the middle of injecting penis filler into a patient's crotch. His makeshift operating theatre was on the second floor and reportedly had no operating table or sanitary medical equipment.
Police seized 22 items including medicines and surgical tools.
Kittikorn was hauled to the police station for questioning. He allegedly admitted that he had no medical training.
He said: 'I graduated Matthayom 3 (Grade 9) in Phang Nga province. I learned pearl embedding and started doing it since I was 14.
'I have been doing it for about 20 years. I meet around two to three customers per month and I can earn around 5,000 to 20,000 THB (114 GBP to 455 GBP) per customer.'
Police said he was charged with 'operating a medical facility and medical business without permission', which carries a penalty of up to five years in jail, a fine of up to 100,000 THB (2,275 GBP), or both.
The suspect was also charged with 'practising medicine without a licence' which is punishable with up to three years in jail, a fine of up to 30,000 THB (682 GBP), or both.
Police Major General Wittaya Sriprasertparp, CCPD commander, said: 'I would like to inform the public that pearl implantation or filler injection to increase the sieze of the penis is a personal sexual preference of each person. It does not have any medical benefits for health.
'Surgery to insert foreign objects into the penis may cause inflammation and infection, and may result in the penis becoming unusable. I am warning fake doctors and those who run fake clinics to stop such behaviour immediately because the police will continue to make arrests. If you are found guilty, legal action will be taken decisively.'
Kittikorn was arrested amid a crackdown on illegal clinics and quack doctors in Thailand.
In late August, the Central Investigation Bureau raided four unlicensed clinics and detained five quack doctors in Phuket and Rayong provinces.
On September 6, American national Darius was arrested for allegedly selling magic mushrooms as medicine to treat depression in Bangkok.
On September 9, British beautician Thomas Foley, 42, was nabbed for allegedly running an illegal beauty clinic that caused severe allergic reactions and paralysis in a customer in Surat Thani province.
