A python was caught slithering up an electric post in Thailand.
The 10ft serpent sparked panic as it curled up on the utility pole in Kamphaeng Phet province during rush hour on September 25.
Residents called snake catchers to the scene fearing the python would drop onto traffic below and cause an accident.
Officers waited an hour for the python to slither back down toward the base of the post before catching it.
Villagers said the python was earlier seen devouring a myna bird on the electric post. It was placed inside a sack and was later released into a forest.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
