A Thai transgender suspect was arrested for allegedly trafficking underage prostitutes online.
Pattarapon Kongthon, 20, reportedly lured cash-strapped teenage girls into doing sex work in Surat Thani province, Thailand.
He was said to have posted lewd photos of the minors on social media to attract customers for 1,300 THB (30 GBP) a night. He would then take a 500-THB (12 GBP) cut as her fee.
Police Colonel Alongkot Cotchakaew of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division led officers said the alleged pimp was arrested at his rented room in Surat Thani on September 27.
The officer said: 'The suspect admitted to all charges. We checked her background and found she had committed so many crimes to the point that there were numerous complaints about her on social media. We handed her over to the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division 5 for further legal action.'
Pattarapon was charged with 'human trafficking by prostituting children under 18', 'procuring, inducing, or encouraging a child to commit an offense', 'gratifying the sexual desires of others with children under 18', 'assisting and providing protection for others involved in prostitution', and 'abducting children under 18'.
