This is the shocking moment tourists were seen having sex on an Indonesian beach in broad daylight.
The pair of holidaymakers sparked outrage as they were filmed romping on Kuta Mandalika Beach in Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia.
Onlooker, Ola Willow, said she recorded the couple but then 'felt bad' when officers became involved.
She said: 'I saw the tourists doing that on the beach. I recorded them because it was so bad. But I didn't want them to get into trouble so I deleted the post. Now I feel bad for them.'
Locals reported the footage to officers on September 30, prompting an investigation by the police in the region.
Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Iwan Hidayat said on October 1: 'We are currently investigating and checking the truth of the video, whether it is true that the incident occurred at Kuta Mandalika Beach. There are people who informed us through social media, and we are currently verifying if the video is real.
'If it is true that the location is on Kuta Beach, we will process it legally. This act tarnishes the name of Central Lombok and is very incompatible with our culture, dignity and self-esteem as a country.'
Local tourism officer Rata Wijaya said authorities feared the 'immoral' incident would damage Lombok's reputation as a tourist destination.
He said: 'This will harm our image as a family-friendly destination, especially since we are famous for the 'Island of a Thousand Mosques'. There is no excuse for this. We are worried about negative news especially since we have just finished holding a MotoGP event.'
Rata urged police to immediately arrest the randy perpetrators.
Public sexual activity may be punishable under conservative Indonesia's Pornography Law.
The policy penalizes what the government calls 'pornoaction' or 'pornoaksi' - a sweeping term for actions that may be considered indecent or sexually provocative. This includes public displays of intimacy, kissing, and wearing revealing bikini or swimwear.
Critics have slammed the vague definition, claiming the law may infringe on personal freedoms.
