Police raided five warehouses storing illegal sex toys for sale in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Central Investigation Bureau converged on the houses and condo rooms across different districts in the city and arrested nine suspects, including two Lao nationals, on October 10.
The raid came following investigations into a Telegram group called 'PimThaidai' that reportedly published voyeuristic hidden camera videos and child pornography.
The channel was said to have more than 90,000 followers and also allegedly advertised illegal sex toys and unauthorised sexual stimulants.
Authorities traced the source of the illicit goods to five locations in Bangkok.
They detained nine people, and seized more than 2,580 sex toys and 66 gadgets.
The suspects were named by police as Thai nationals Suchada Saelu, 26, Arnon Saekhong, 25, Mongkolwitoon Intapat, 40, Chaiwat Chalermsin, 31, Sukho Amornwutthipong, 30, Ekkarat Saiwan, 29, and Wuttipong Plukjai, 25, Lao woman, Dokkeo Douang Oudom, 32, and Lao man Niksanh Douangoudom, 30.
Officers said they will face various charges including 'importing pornographic content into an accessible computer system' and 'possessing obscene items for trading, distribution, or exhibition'.
The suspects will face additional charges of 'working as a foreigner without a permit'.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Natapat Ngampradit of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division 1 said: 'The suspects admitted that they illegally opened websites and a secret Telegram group to advertise sex toys. They have been doing this for more than two years.
‘They had a large number of customers and received a monthly revenue of around 100,000 to 200,000 baht. The network itself is believed to be worth several million baht.'
