A furious husband allegedly attacked an Indian tourist for reportedly groping his wife at a beach in Thailand.
The group of Indian holidaymakers had drunk beer before asking to take selfies with the Thai woman at Pattaya Beach on the morning of October 9.
However, one of them allegedly began feeling her body and tried to kiss her. The woman's spouse was said to have blown up at the Indian visitor, knocking him out with a punch to the face.
Footage shows the unconscious man sprawled on the sand as his friends pressed their hands together and begged for help.
He woke up sporting an injured right eye and initially declined to be taken to a hospital. He told medics: 'I'm fine, I'm fine.'
The Indian man later agreed to receive treatment when Pattaya police arrived.
A police spokesman said: 'The group of foreigners requested the arrest of the suspect. They wanted us to take their friend to the hospital because they said they did not trust anyone else.
‘We took them to the Pattaya City Hospital and suggested that they file a report.'
Ae, a friend of the alleged attacker, said she had seen the Indian tourists enjoying beer under a coconut tree at the beach.
She said: 'They walked up to us and asked to take a photo. The first time, my female friends and I agreed because we didn't think anything of it. Then they took turns taking photos.
'On the fifth time, the Indian man came up to us again, but he groped me and my friend. He rubbed our stomachs and tried to kiss us. This made my friend's husband unhappy. He argued with the tourist before punching him in the face.'
Former fishing village Pattaya became popular with American troops on 'rest and relaxation' breaks in the 1960s when the U.S. military had bases in Thailand. In the ensuing years, the coastal resort spawned into a semi-barbarous sex-tourism hellscape.
Embarrassed officials have made progress in gentrifying the region with family tourism projects but a ravenous nightlife industry and corrupt police have hampered their efforts, with undesirables from all nations still attracted to the seedy city.
